This is a beautiful French alencon lace dress. The lace is fitted to the bodice and flows into a pick-up skirt made of silk organza with small rhinestone attachments at each pick-up. There is a slight chapel train in the back. The back is a slight “V”, lower cut with a hidden zipper and silk-wrapped buttons down the back side of the bodice. The dress is somewhere between an A-line and ballgown style and is incredibly light and airy. A French Bustle was added to the skirt, and a strap underneath the skirt to hold it up.
I wore this gown with a birdcage style veil, which gave it a soft slightly vintage look. It can be easily accessorized to match to a given style easily.
The dress is well cleaned and in good condition. However upon closer inspection there is still a slight mark (from my shoe?) on the underside of the skirt and a faint coffee stain that can be seen on the inside lining at the very bottom of the organza skirt. But it is not easily noticeable.
This was a sample dress size 8 altered to fit a street size 0-2. The waist and bust were taken in a bit to fit my petite frame, and bust pads can be added. The inner lining was hemmed slightly to accommodate me perfectly. I am 5’7″ but wore flats so the appropriate height for this dress would be about 5’7” or 5’8″ and I weighed 120 lbs. However, it is possible to take in the bodice further and let it out about an inch or two on each side as well :)
