I am so happy, Courtney, is here with us today to share another one of her lovely table designs. She was kind enough to also put together a little summary about the table below…
For this 60′s inspired Mod table I was trying to make it simple
and sophisticated but with some fun to it as well. I wanted the table
to have a modern mid century paris feel, as if you spent the day
walking through paris during the 60′s…stopping in a record store,
swinging by a cafe, playing at a street carnival and ending the day
drinking martinis at a Beatnik Bar with poetry readings…..Black,
White, and Pink with hints of Yellow was the color scheme inspired by
the movie “Breathless”.
To stay on budget and by not making the flowers the main
focus, I decided to get very streamlined modern vases that would be
best for single stem flowers, and to bring in more of the cafe
inspiration I also used espresso cups as little vases to hold just a
few more flowers. Ideally the martini glasses would be filled
with Lemon Drops to add just that little bit more of yellow. I started
with the basics- white table cloth, round table, black napkins, and
basic white dishes all the items that most venues supply. I added torn
strips of striped fabric to make runners so it wasn’t an all white
table, and added pattern plates on top of the white dishes to brighten
them up a bit. By keeping in the theme with the 60′s mode feel I used old records, a vintage camera, and candy cigarettes. Balloons with escort cards tied with pink ric rac ribbon would guide your guest’s to their table.
