It’s always a treat to share a wedding of two people we know here on Once Wed, so today’s couple is extra special to us. Austin Gros, a wedding photographer, and Amanda Gros, a hair and makeup guru, are two amazingly talented creatives who work in the industry. Amanda was kind enough to send over more details from their wedding for me to share to with you…

With three short months of planning, Austin and I got married March 30, 2013. The seasons were still in transition, it was still chilly at night and the trees had barely started blooming.

The first time we visited Bloomsbury Farm, we knew it would be the place we would be getting married. When we saw their gorgeous pavilion with the huge stone fireplace we knew it would be the perfect place for our guests to enjoy our wedding and still keep warm with the fire roaring all night.

The decor was inspired by the natural setting of our venue and the time of year. Lots of planted greenery and lavender were placed on the guest farm tables with a large floral centerpiece placed at the head table. Floral and greenery also draped over the fireplace mantel while candles were dispersed on every table throughout the pavilion area.

We got married under a grove of Evergreen trees. Guests were seated under the canopies of the branches while our dear friends played and sang “Come Thou Fount” by Sufjan Stevens while I walked down the aisle with my dad. After we were pronounced husband and wife, the brass band I surprised Austin with started playing and the Second Line commenced. Everyone followed the band down the pathway to the pavilion where the reception was taking place. On the way there, we danced and laughed with our family and friends. It truly was an amazing moment of our wedding that we will never forget.

It started to rain after everyone was tucked away under the pavilion. As our guests started eating we snuck away to take our photos (yes, we did them in the rain!) We returned to the pavilion, both of us soaking wet, but not a care in the world – we were married. We spent the rest of the night talking and dancing with our loved ones, soaking in the wonderful moments with everyone around us.

We loved everything about our wedding. We loved sharing such a special day with so many people we loved. Our wedding day was perfect to us in every way, rain and all. Thank you to everyone who made it so special for us. We love you!
