There’s no better way to prepare yourself to your wedding photos than with engagement portraits. We’re so lucky to share this elegant engagement session from Meghan K Sadler today, along with Elaine and Henry’s sweet story. The pair first met in college in the same engineering program and quickly became friends. Henry admits that his reasons for forming a friendship with Elaine were quite selfish. Elaine, a prestigious UC San Diego Jacobs Scholar, was always receiving top scores in all the engineering classes–most notably, all the hard ones that Henry wasn’t very good at. His strategy was simple: keep your friends close but your competition closer. This was the seed that started it all.

From the Bride:

Photography was one of the most important elements in planning our wedding and Meghan and our venue were the first things we booked–both on the same day! We chose Meghan because of her unbelievably artistic view on life (how amazing would it be to live in her lens!) and warm personality, but after months of corresponding via email, when we finally met in person the day of our engagement session it was evident that it was her warm personality that allowed her to capture people’s stories so effortlessly and why the day was so much fun (the beautiful moments she captured were more than delightful too, of course). After the session together, we realized how wonderful it was to surround ourselves with genuine, warm-hearted people who love what they do. The engagement portraits made us look forward to our big day even more because not only would we be getting married, but we would also get to reconnect with Meghan and this approach has helped us in selecting the rest of our vendors–choosing people we truly would be happy to share our big day with!
