You might have already seen snippets of Joo and Jacob’s wedding on The Bride’s Guide, but I couldn’t resist posting some of my favorite images on Once Wed too. Kelly of Yes, Please Design has such a wonderful imagination and I love what she dreamed up for their celebration…
Joo and Jacob looked to small, local businesses and young entrepreneurs to create an intimate evening that was every bit inspired by the couple and their relationship. What resulted was a beautifully romantic, whimsically fun day to remember.
Hoot & Heart created stunningly romantic florals with a rustic touch. Joo’s bouquet featured white antique garden roses and pale-pink garden roses, scabiosa pods, succulents, eucalyptus, and green wheat. For each table, Hoot & Heart softened up the environment with locally grown dahlias mixed with succulents, green wheat, and pods arrangement in porcelain Italian beakers and cylinders wrapped in pages torn from vintage books.
Joo came to me originally to design her dessert table (and later hired me to come on as her event designer and later invited my husband and I as guests at her wedding!) The concept for the dessert table was inspired by a mix of modern and vintage inspired fabrics. The fabrics from the candy table inspired most of the remaining elements of the day. I scanned the fabrics to use in the design of the wedding program and favor tags. The table numbers were created using wood slabs with rounded corners and spray gluing the fabric with each number cut out. The wood mixed with the modern/vintage fabrics fit well with the Smog Shoppe’s aesthetic.
