A DIY Wedding At Home II

I looked at a ton of vintage photos from flea markets to inspire the decor of the reception. Which then lead me to collect bundles and bundles of hankies, doilies, picnic table cloths, and old vases. That was the majority of the decoration. We didn’t want a huge production. So, no formal toasts or dances. Instead we had a record player and invited guests to  share some of their favorite records and our maid of honor and best man shared their feelings on our marriage in a more intimate and private setting.

Jon and I wanted it to be simple and sentimental. And i think that that’s exactly what it was. One of our best friends described the wedding to be like a big family party which was the best compliment I could have received because that was  our intent.

    Yes! I love this!

I’ll be honest, sometimes I get so DIY’d out- all these projects that brides obsess over just seem exhausting to me. BUT- this bride/groom have the right idea. Keeping it simple and intimate and lovely.

So beautiful. So sweet. Love the painting.

This couple is adorable, and so is their decor! They totally pulled off the “keeping it simple” but still really cool thing. Love it.

Great wedding, absolutely gorgeous. Who planned it? Whoever it is did a stellar job. I’d like to see if she could plan for me.

My dream wedding would be at home in a nice backyard with lots of lanterns. However, I do not have access to a backyard of sufficient size to do that. I love at home weddings.

Fantastic idea about the no toasts and playing records instead. We are trying to do with the toast, and the music thing may work for us.
    Dress is beautiful!

I’m still in love with this wedding! It’s exactly what I want, except I would prefer it to be in the garden if the weather cooperates!

I love the picture, what a great keepsake from the wedding!

This just saved my life. I’ve been so sucked into the Pinterest DIY professional party planning world that I’ve started to get so overwhelmed when something like this is exactly what I wanted (and what I can afford) in the first place.

    Beautiful wedding, beautiful people.
