DIY $10 White Fondant Bubbly Wedding Cake

Betsi Ewing is a Brooklyn, New York based wedding and lifestyle photographer. Her photographic style is a mix of documentary and fine art, with a dash of fashion and thought towards styling.

I’ve always loved photographing real moments, real life & real people. This interest and passion led me to wedding photography, which I feel, is photojournalism at its best. It has been such a pleasure working with so many lovely couples through the years. I’m laid back, easy going and try to blend in with the party. The biggest compliment my clients have given me is that they felt like they were being photographed by a friend.

DIY $10 White Fondant Bubbly Wedding Cake

diy-simple-wedding-cakes

This is a seriously simple and budget friendly sweet little simple wedding cake. You could make or even buy the frosted cake in plain white fondant (or ice it with buttercream and smooth it with a paper towel–here’s a really nice, thorough tutorial if you want to try it for the first time) and then add the decorations. You can buy a small package of ready-made fondant from your local craft, cake, or maybe grocery store for about $8 and then buy or make a little bit of royal icing for a few more bucks…this decoration can be done for about $10! All you have to do is tear off bits of fondant, roll them into little balls, and “glue” them on with the royal icing. If you could use play-dough as a kid you’re going to rock this simple wedding cake!

Dreamy Veil and Boudoir Editorial

I haven’t had the chance to visit a lot of the Northwest, but this dreamy editorial along the Williamette River from Erich McVey has me daydreaming of taking a trip out to Oregon. Erich partnered with Emily Riggs Bridal to highlight some of her newest pieces, and his photos are nothing short of exceptional.
