DIY Wedding Getaway Garland

getaway garland 1

I recently asked some of my favorite southern ladies to pull together a series of DIY posts centered around beautiful, floral decorations easily recreated at home. We received such a great response from the car garlands in the fall wedding colors  and elegant ranch wedding ideas features, I asked Ginny and Holly to create a tutorial on how to design something similar for your own getaway car. I love how it turned out!

See my problem here would be that I wouldn’t be able to move from the back of the car, into the car. It’s too pretty not to keep admiring! And you girls make it look so easy!

Michelle, it should last a couple if days. I would make it the day before your wedding and it will stay fresh through your wedding day. Good luck, I know it will be beautiful!

Kate, I used ribbon which I threaded between the oasis and garland right below the point where the two are wired together. Then, with the trunk open, I fed both ends of the ribbon through on either side of the hinges of the trunk and then tied it inside the trunk. I wouldn’t use wire as it could scratch the car. Strong ribbon or twine will work well.

This isn’t about the garland, which is beautiful, but I need help! I’ve been unable to reach anybody on this website. The only contact info I see is emily@oncewed but my email keeps getting rejected. I want so badly to purchase a dress I found on here but my emails don’t seem to be going through to the seller either. Any ideas???
