I am so excited about today’s real wedding from the incredible, One Love Photo. We feature a lot of outdoor weddings on Once Wed, but rarely get the opportunity to feature such an amazing garden wedding like James and Cara’s. Not only did Heather do an incredible job capturing their wedding, but I absolutely adore all the little charming details Cara decided to incorporate for her guest to enjoy. Lucky for us, Cara was sweet enough to send over some details from her wedding for me to share…
I also wanted to make note of Poco Carretto Gelato, whose adorable little cart fit right into the playful atmosphere of our wedding and served some of the most delicious gelato and sorbetto I have ever had in my life. And finally, Heather at One Love Photo was so sweet and friendly and helpful – and amazingly talented!
I have such a wonderful treat in store for everyone today from the lovely husband and wife team, Erin Hearts Court. Courtney sent over a ton of beautiful images from Charles and Nadia’s wedding last week, and I’ve been itching ever since to upload these lovelies onto the blog. Their amazing event planner and florist, Meg, was also sweet enough to join us today and share a bit more information behind their wedding…
Nadia has a fun, romantic, vintage-inspired style. We started with the floral print cloth napkins from Anthropologie to place in the middle of the guest tables and frame the centerpieces. We chose a collection of vases in different sizes and shapes to give the centerpiece an eclectic feel and incorporated slices of fire wood for an organic element and white “granny doilies” to give the look a romantic edge.
For flowers, I used dinner plate dahlias, antique hydrangeas, spray roses, peonies and garden/cabbage roses. To complete the centerpiece look, we turned kitchen glasses from Anthropologie into candles and picture frames from Anthropologie into table numbers. Overall, we aimed to have an organic, vintage-inspired, romantic and eclectic decor scheme.
Nadia is of Russian heritage and Charles is of Venezuelan heritage so they wanted to include some elements of those cultures into their wedding decor. The matryoshka doll favors were brought from Russia by Nadia’s family, the fiesta banners were bought from the Etsy store “Ay Mujer” and the tissue pom poms were bought from the Etsy store “Pom Pom Love.”
Oh, and the image above is what did it for me. Have you ever seen a more heartwarming photograph? It puts a huge smile on my face just looking at it…

***Update: Wow! You guys are awesome. Thank you to the 1500+ individuals who’ve already filled out our little survey. The feedback I’ve received has been amazing, and very eye opening. I look forward to making improvements to certain areas of the site and adding new features/columns over the next few months in hopes of making Once Wed an even better resource for planning your wedding. The survey is now closed.***
Every year I like to do a quick survey so I can get a better idea of not only who my readers are, but also to make sure I’m still featuring relevant and exciting content(or if I’m not). I really do take to heart what is said in these surveys, and it is one of the big determining factors when planning out new features for the site over the next 6 months. So, if you have suggestions, feedback, or ideas of what you might like to see more or less of – this is the best place for your voice to be heard.
This anonymous survey has 15 questions and takes about 2 minutes to fill out(I timed my husband to make sure…I’m a nerd like that). Plus, Ashley of Dolci Odille is giving away 3 yards of flower garlands(custom or multi colored) to 2 lucky participants who enter their emails at the end of the survey. Thank you guy so much! I really can’t tell you how grateful I am for your daily readership and feedback.
This board created by Snippet and Ink has been on my mind all week. Maybe its the kelly green color, but I have a feeling its the lovely bridesmaid dresses from the wedding in the middle. I feel like the wedding world has come a long way in terms of bridesmaid dresses, but one of the most popular questions still coming through my inbox is from brides looking for beautiful dress options for their ladies. Yes, we have J Crew, and it’s a wonderful resource. But, what if a girl wants a little something different? And then I saw these lovely little numbers. Sadly, I have no clue who designed them, but I couldn’t resist sharing them here in hopes of finding out and passing the source onto others. Anyways, I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I’ll see ya back here on Monday.
***Update: Yay! We found out the designer! Her information is in the comment box below. You guys are fast!***
