Welcome to the New Once Wed!
There were moments during this redesign where I thought I would never get to write this post, but I’m thrilled to finally introduce you to the new Once Wed! Everything of course looks very different, but hopefully after clicking around for bit you’ll be able to find your way around. Not only did we decide to redesign the whole site, but we’ve also relaunched Once Wed as a more of a online resource for helping you plan your wedding rather than just a solely a blog and listing service.
I really can’t thank everyone enough for their readership and support over the last year. I hope you like the new site and all it has to offer!

Also Design is the team behind the new site redesign. I’ve been a huge fan of their work every since they redesigned Design Sponge a year or so back, and was so happy when a space opened up in their schedule. They were very patient with me as we went through a few revisions because I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted, but I am thrilled with the final design. If your looking for a design team that thinks outside of the box and creates incredible websites, look no further than Also Design.
My wonderful programmer, Jonathan. Words cannot express how grateful I am that my friend, Matt Altmix, passed on his name to me. I had such a hard time finding someone who would even return my emails, and Jonathan was responsive and then some. Not only did he take all my ideas and make them a reality, but he walked me through every step of the way to make sure I understood what was going on. Hands down the best customer service experience I’ve ever had with a programmer.
My incredible husband, Brett, who was so loving and supportive of me throughout this whole process. I haven’t been a very attentive wife these last couple of months, and I am really looking forward to getting back into our normal way of life. I love you, babe! I couldn’t have done this without you.
Ashley of Dolci Odille and Joy Thigpen – these ladies acted as my sounding board and were always there to lend a listening ear when I had a question or concern. I feel very blessed to call these two friends!
Last, but certainly least – a HUGE thank you to all the amazing vendors who graciously filled our galleries and blog with hundreds of gorgeous images. Everyone I contacted was so kind about letting me feature their work on the new site, and I was incredibly humbled by their generosity. We actually have a lot more images to upload over the coming weeks, so definitely keep checking back for more as we continue to update our galleries.
Some information about the site…
I’m putting together a little guide to the new site to post later, but honestly the best way to see how it works is to try it out. We’ve done our best to streamline everything and make it super easy for you to get around(note the new search boxes in all the top right corners), but it is brand new so if you find any kinks along the way feel free to email me at emily(at)oncewed(dot)com.
The vendor guide is the only part of the site not quite ready. We’re launching this part in the next couple of weeks and I am so excited to have the opportunity to showcase so many wonderful vendors on Once Wed.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the lovely, wedding shoot below photographed by, Tec Petaja. I’ve separated the feature into 5 different posts because the shoot was too gorgeous to only restrict it to 2. I’ve got another amazing real wedding coming up next, so stay tuned!

One issue: I tend to check blogs via Google Reader, and since the redesign, I can’t see your posts anymore. I get the title, but then I have to click through to the actual site to see anything. Can this be fixed??

Congrats Emily! One question about the redesign: For those of us who subscribe to Once Wed with an rss feed, can you please fix it so we can see at least part of the post and images in the feed? I understand if you’ve decided to stop including the entire post in order to drive more traffic, but it’s so annoying to only see a sentence or two without pictures. If I had a better idea of what the post was about or what the wedding looked like, I would be much more inclined to click through to see the rest!

Congrats — it’s a beauuutiful site!! I love the photo grid links especially. I’m seconding Rachael’s comment though. I also read OnceWed through a feed reader, and now all I can see is a headline and brief blurb — no pretty pictures, which makes it so much less enticing for me to click through! =(
Unfortunately, our site was hacked yesterday, so instead of being able to focus our time on smaller details like making sure the RSS feed was working properly we were stuck working out a virus. Sorry for the delay in getting this fixed, but everything should be back to normal tomorrow with full posts in the reader.

Wow! I knew you were doing a redesign for this was a total, happy surprise! Yay!!! It looks so great and is such a great backdrop for the style and feel of your posts! And yes, it is SUPER easy to navigate, I wouldn’t worry about it. I only wish that you still had a central place to post general comments, that aren’t necessarily specific to any particular post ie. Dude, the site is looking fantastic!
The website looks great. Yesterday I could not access your page, I got a message that said my IP address was being blocked or restricted and I did not have permission to view the page. But hooray today it appears this problem is fixed.
The new site is beautiful! I especially like the layout for the different sections – the lightbox set up is so easy to navigate. Congrats!

I absolutely love oncewed, the photos are simply amazing, and the new design is nice, but… it is very, very, very VERY annoying to have “do you want to live in the usa”/”find your classmates”/etc adds on the top and on the right side of the site. I hope these adds won’t last, because they are ugly. (sorry)
