DIY: Hanging Handkerchiefs Vases
I’ve been collecting handkerchiefs for a while and have been trying to figure out a way to incorporate them into a project. I just love all the different patterns and they come in
every color under the sun. They could really coordinate with any wedding. After the wedding, these could easily be disassembled and the
handkerchiefs and jars could be used again for their original purpose.
Thanks
Laurie

sales and thrift stores, so are handkerchiefs. Bailing wire is
available at any hardware store.
use these in a humid location, I would suggest using a little spray
starch to help keep them crisp)
top of the handkerchief down (see figure 2) to create a band of
fabric that is the same height as the jar. Press the folds.
around the grooves in the top of the jar, then create a hanger. (see
figure 3)
around the vase to conceal the rubber band. Tie the tails in a bow.
(see figure 5)
Laurie, your the best! Thanks for another wonderful project!!
these are adorable! the vintage patterns on handkerchiefs are often imitated but here you get the real thing. they have a quaint ladylike-ness to them like nothing else.
So sweet! Love this idea :)
As usual, this is genius!
Laurie, this project turned out great. I love this site so much. I just want more and more.
Awww I LOVE these! Since I didn’t end up printing my save-the-dates on hadkerchiefs I didn’t know what I was going to do with all of them. THANK YOU for this.

How can one person be so creative? LOVE this idea!
great project!! as always, I’m totally blown away with laurie’s talent and creativity.
So inspired! I want to go looking for these handkerchiefs right now! These vases would be great decor for a wedding, but I can totally see them in my house on an everyday basis too.
i always look forward to DIY fridays. Awesome start to the weekend :)
what a magnificently clever idea! And if you don’t collect hankies, you could still just use a hanky-sized square of fabric which would be easy to color coordinate for an event.
Very cute idea! Clever, too.
These are so sweet! Thanks for sharing!
These are absolutely adorable!
