I thought I wanted a mermaid/sexy dress but when my fiance convinced me to try this on I fell in love with it. It's not your typical tulle dress. There are several layers for tulle. I did not wear a slip under but I did try it...

on with both a hoop and crinoline and both worked fine with it. The bodice is a gorgeous shirred fabric with individually knotted beads scattered throughout and lining the top and bottom of the bodice. The bodice was not altered. The beading (not sequins but glass beads and a few scattered rhinestones that I had glued on to show in some pictures better) scattered down the skirt. The hem was trimmed slightly in the front to walk but the sides and back were not touched. I'm 5'4" and wore 3" heels. There was no bustle but one could be added. I wore this for the ceremony and pictures only. As you can see the pictures were outside and there may be some slight dirt on the bottom. Since the tulle is not silk some simple cleaning (i.e. spot treating and hand rinsing according to my grandmother the seamstress) will take care of it. It will need to be steamed and there are some slightly loose beads. I'm going to more closely exam the bottom of the skirt but I'm guessing there might show some where close up since my pictures were in the desert.
