and crystal accents, which also embellish the lace inset panel in the skirt. As you can see in the photos, the fabric at the waist gathers to one side to create a slimming effect (called ruching). The lace on the chapel-length train is embroidered with matching pearls and crystals. I had a simple 1-point English bustle added which held up perfectly throughout the entire reception. The color is lighter than ivory but not "white" so it really looks amazing on any skin tone. The lace-up back means that this dress will fit it's owner perfectly in addition to helping create a stunning hourglass silhouette! It has built-in crinoline to maintain the gown's dramatic shape. As for as my alterations: In addition to the bustle described above, I had the gown taken up about 2 inches in the front so that it was the perfect length for me (I am 5'7" and wore 2" heels on my wedding day). I also had the fabric at the "hips" taken in to create more of a slim silhouette rather than a full A-line, so the dress is now a Modified A-line. I did NOT have the waist or bust altered at all because the lace-up back allows for a custom-fit! I wore the matching "candlelight" (light ivory) silk panel in the back of the dress where the gown laces up, as you can see in the photo. Another option is to leave that panel out as you are lacing up the dress. This would essentially leave your back visible, if you wanted a more casual look.
