When I first stumbled upon this wedding, I immediately knew it would be such a wonderful fit for Once Wed. Not only are the bride and groom are just about as sweet as they come, but their entire wedding was a collaborative effort between family and friends which in my opinion is the best kind of celebration. Yota, the beautiful bride, was kind enough to share some of the details behind their whimsical wedding…
Joe and I were married on the 11th anniversary of the day we first met. We wanted to have a simple outdoor ceremony and a small backyard reception, but my side of the family is Greek and doesn’t do small. So we compromised and had a big backyard wedding. We were married by a pond at beautiful Larz Andersen Park in Brookline, MA. A local Boston gypsy jazz band, Sinti Rhythm, led our procession of guests to the ceremony site.
Stay tuned for Yota and Joe’s adorable backyard reception coming up next!

Shoot, I can’t see these pictures either! I’m using IE/Windows 7.
LOVE the lace of her dress, these are so dreamy!
Wow, she has got to be one of the most gorgeous brides I’ve ever seen!
What a beautiful bouquet!
Please tell me who designed the stationery?! It’s so pretty!
I agree, her bouquet is perfect! I also love that pink umbrella.
love the stationery and the flowers are amazing! Such a beautiful wedding!
Oh, how I love backyard weddings!!! Can’t wait to see the reception!
Beautifullll! I love the fiddle! This looks like one of those weddings that goes down in people’s history books as “one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to.”
this is exactly where my fiance and I were/are thinking about doing our ceremony. Problem is we have 150+ people coming. How did the band sound without amplification?
Those are my only two critiques of the spot… but this has made me re think doing it there…
very sweet! love the flowers and that shot with the “sunbrella”!
Thanks for all the kind comments! Debs, I did the layout and printing of the invitations myself. The artwork on the invitations is by the amazing papercut artist Rob Ryan and was used with his permission.
That pink umbrella is adorable. Where did you find it?
Hey Yota – Great work with the stationery! I thought it looked very Rob Ryan :) Just looked at your reception photos too. Such a beautiful wedding!
Nisha – I’m pretty sure she got the umbrella from http://www.bellaumbrella.com. We were so happy as photographers to have such beautiful “props” to work with :) And for those of you who loved her bouquet, Yota created it herself! (Along with all of the other floral design)
beautiful! i especially love the cotton field landscape
i love the tea length dress! is it a one of a kind find?
Beautiful!! Who made the dress? It’s amazing!
We are just about to cater to a wedding venue like yours… I hope everything works out with ours… This is our first wedding project….
