I fell in love with this dress and bought it the next day because it was a sample and I did not want to lose it. I ended up wearing a different dress (made by a close friend) for my wedding. Though the dress is technically a sample,...

it was never worn as one -- so it absolutely looks and feels brand new. It is from the couture designers Lara Helene Atellier and bought at their store on the Upper East Side. (The style is "Jessica".) The dress is made of extremely soft silk chiffon which feels incredibly good and romantic on. It has a built in corset with great support. There is a white/cream velvet ribbon that goes around the empire waist, and the chiffon then parts below for a goddess style draping. There is a thin crinolin underneath, which can probably be removed. My favorite part of the dress is the way it drapes in the back (see photo in mirror). I am a street size 4, but I think the dress could fit anywhere from 2-6. The dress has not been altered in any way. Across the bust there is a small ripple in the way the fabric drapes that will disappear with a small alteration. It's barely noticeable and the shop's seamstress showed me how making it slightly more taut when altering (which you would probably do anyway) will fix it completely. I'm attaching a photo of me in the dress, and also one from the Lara Helene website (their photo has a black ribbon, but the ribbon on the dress is white/cream.) I think it's a perfect dress for someone who wants to be elegant, romantic and understated but also original/couture. I bought the dress for $2400 and it is originally valued at $4500.
