Ros + Blake IV

Real Weddings

Because I spend my days blogging about all things wedding, I often catch myself dreaming about what our wedding might have looked like if we’d decided not to elope. I think a lot of the details below would have definitely ended up making the list especially the burlap runners and family style eating. I mean how fun would it be to attend a wedding like Ros and Blake’s?

Hey Eliza! We actually ended up eloping to Serenbe(the beautiful location where the couple from yesterdays wedding got married). We called the owners and asked if we stayed the weekend at the inn if we could get married on the grounds. They were cool with it as long as we kept the amount of people under 5 which we did(photographer, pastor, brother, and us). We threw a big, backyard party a couple months later to celebrate with out family and friends.

Hey Emily! I’m not quite sure, but I will try to find out.

Wow! That’s so close to what we were thinking also. Everyone thinks I’m insane because all I do is obsess over the wedding blogs but i don’t want a “normal” wedding (at least according to my friends/family). Love how you did it.

thanks again Emily!

Hi all,

My very very talented and dedicated maid of honour is a graphic designer and designed the programs, menus, invitations, all the stationary. We sourced images from James Welling’s Flowers book (hope that’s not an infringement of copyright!)…

The flower seating cards I hand wrote, and the tissue paper pom poms are a la Martha Stewart. I had my mum and mum-in-law fluffing them up for hours the night before the weddding.

As for the dress, it was made for me by a very skillful local dressmaker in Sydney, who put up with hours of me um-ing and ah0ing in the mirror as I agonized over every seam..!
